A picture is worth of thousand words, and the September 2013 issue of National Geographic magazine gives us full details should all ice on earth disappear completely – a whopping sea level rise of 216 feet! If that happens, the world that we once knew will never be the same again as the rising sea level will undoubtedly send many coastal cities (which most of them are key food production areas) under water. The impact will be so profound and far-reaching that new environmental, social and political systems would have to be configured to address major food, energy and water crises around the world. Hopefully this day will never come.
